Category merchandising: Category scope statistical boosting

We have introduced a new feature that unlocks endless product merchandising opportunities in your e-store product category pages.

Previously, navigating through an extensive product category page (let’s say, books) relied on a default random sorting order. That means the books were sorted alphabetically or according to the upload date…but not based on their relevance to the user.

We heard our clients’ requests and introduced a conversion-boosting approach - automatic product sorting based on clicks on category pages. LupaSearch allows you to track specific product clicks directly from the category page.

Now, LupaSearch reorders the search results not only on the search results page but also on the category level. That means, the more your website visitors engage with an item, the higher it ascends in the category results catalog, ensuring that the products your shoppers are most interested in are readily accessible.

Autosuggest in product categories

Our latest update significantly improved the autosuggest feature within product categories.

This feature is especially beneficial for customers who don’t know yet what they want and navigate through numerous product categories.

Previously, users faced a challenge as autocomplete suggestions didn’t work smoothly in the product categories pages.

For instance, a search for “iPhones” might have yielded irrelevant categories like “iPhone cases” instead of the latest phones, which are more relevant to the user based on his query.

Now, the autosuggest algorithm prioritizes categories based on relevance and user interaction, ensuring that the most clicked and relevant product categories appear higher on the search results page.

This enhancement streamlines the search experience and boosts remarkable speed and accuracy, even with extensive product feeds. Fast, precise autosuggestions help users quickly find what they’re looking for, resulting in a more seamless shopping experience.

With this turned on, the e-commerce search will return the most user-relevant suggestions possible.
